Los \u00abD\u00edas de Muertos\u00bb, 1 y 2 de noviembre, constituyen una de las fiestas, tradiciones y costumbres m\u00e1s importantes para los mexicanos, la cual se ha practicado desde la \u00e9poca prehisp\u00e1nica en cada uno de los pueblos ind\u00edgenas y principales ciudades de M\u00e9xico. La creencia popular estriba en el regreso de los \u201cfieles difuntos\u201d al mundo de los vivos, para convivir con sus familiares una noche y para nutrirse de los alimentos que preparan los deudos para recibirlos y que son puestos en altares como ofrenda. La Organizaci\u00f3n de las Naciones Unidas para la Educaci\u00f3n, la Ciencia y la Cultura (UNESCO), declar\u00f3 en 2008 esta festividad como Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad, por su importancia y trascendencia en tiempos contempor\u00e1neos y como una fuente constitutiva de la identidad. Con motivo de esta festividad, en LARIMAR Gallery Hotel Boutique se presenta una instalaci\u00f3n singular \u00abNichos y Dichos\u00bb dise\u00f1ada en cuatro diferentes estructuras de madera, cuyo origen proviene de las cajitas que antiguamente las familias compraban a los artesanos para adornarlas con im\u00e1genes de santos o v\u00edrgenes, mismas que cambiaron despu\u00e9s a retablos y nichos con im\u00e1genes diversas. En cada uno de los soportes de \u00abNichos y Dichos\u00bb se representan escenas propias de refranes del imaginario popular mexicano, tales como: YA CHUP\u00d3 FAROS; LOS MUERTOS AL CAJ\u00d3N Y LOS VIVOS AL FIEST\u00d3N; UN MEZCAL PARA LA GUAPURA Y DESPU\u00c9S UNA SANTA SEPULTURA; NO ESPERAR\u00c9 A QUE LA MUERTE NOS SEPARE. Las paremias tienen una intenci\u00f3n did\u00e1ctica, moral o incluso chusca. La concepci\u00f3n art\u00edstica fue realizada de manera extraordinaria por la dise\u00f1adora gr\u00e1fica Diana M. Chagoya Gonz\u00e1lez, [Mandarina], quien ha sido c\u00f3mplice, desde hace a\u00f1os, en proyectos especiales y, recientemente, de LARIMAR. Deseamos que con creaciones de esta naturaleza se contin\u00faen preservando y difundiendo las tradiciones y costumbres de nuestros pueblos originarios y que, a la vez, se resignifiquen los espacios y las calles de la ciudad con nuevas lecturas y expresiones art\u00edsticas. Esperamos que la rica cultura oaxaque\u00f1a logre captar mayor inter\u00e9s del turismo, en beneficio de la econom\u00eda local, de la hosteler\u00eda y de las actividades relacionadas.<\/p>

The “Days of the Dead”, November 1 and the 2nd, constitute one of the most important holidays, traditions and customs for Mexicans, which has been practiced since preHispanic times in each of the indigenous towns and must cities of Mexico. The popular belief lies in the return of the \u201cfaithful deceased\u201d to the world of the living, to stay with their families one night and to be nourished by the food that the mourners prepare to receive them and that are placed on altars as an offering. In 2008, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) declared this festival as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, due to its importance and significance in contemporary times and as a constitutive source of identity. On the occasion of this festivity, LARIMAR Gallery Hotel Boutique presents a unique installation of “Nichos y Dichos” [ Niches and Saying] designed in four different wooden structures, whose origin comes from the little boxes that families formerly bought from artisans to decorate them with images of saints or virgins, which later changed to altarpieces and niches with various images. In each of the \u201cNichos y Dichos\u201d artworks supports, typical scenes of sayings from the Mexican popular imagination are represented, such as: Ya Chup\u00f3 Faros. [Already sucked Faros (Faros is a cigarettes brand)]; Los muertos al caj\u00f3n y los vivos a fiest\u00f3n [The dead to the coffin and the living to the party]; Un mezcal para la guapura y despu\u00e9s una santa sepultura [A mezcal for the beautiful lady and then a holy burial]; No esperar\u00e9 a que la muerte nos separe I will not wait for to the death to separate us]. The paremias (Sayings) have a didactic, moral or even humorous intention. The artistic conception was carried out in an extraordinary way by the graphic designer Diana M. Chagoya Gonz\u00e1lez, [Mandarina], who has been an accomplice, for years, in LARIMAR’s special projects. We hope that with these artistic works the traditions and customs of our native peoples continue to be preserved and disseminated and that, at the same time, the spaces and streets of the city are given new meanings with new readings and artistic expressions. We hope that the rich Oaxacan culture will attract greater interest from tourism, for the benefit of the local economy, hospitality and related activities.<\/p>
